Our Story

Uptown Sound Festival was founded by local residents and business owners Dan & Day with a simple vision: to create something that brings the community together through music, culture, and connection.

What started as an idea between two people quickly grew into something much bigger - a nonprofit festival supported by an incredible board of local community members, volunteers, artists, and neighbors who all share a passion for Uptown Montclair and the diverse people who make it so special.

Bringing a festival like this to life takes an enormous amount of work and support - from stages and sound equipment to permits, EMS, police, insurance, portable restrooms, and more. Every sponsorship, donation, volunteer, and attendee plays a role in helping us create a safe, welcoming, and memorable experience for the entire town.

Our hope is that Uptown Sound Festival becomes a tradition that Montclair looks forward to year after year - a celebration of music, culture, diversity, and the community that makes this town feel like home.
